| In our Post home we have a table set for the return of the last POW/MIA.
Following is the symbolism of what it represents.
The dinner table is symbolic of their spirit. It will be set for those Prisoners
of War, those Missing In Action, and those men and women still unaccounted for. They
are not with us today. REMEMBER
The table cloth on their table is white, symbolizing the purity of their intentions and
of their sacrifice. REMEMBER
The lone candle symbolizes a guiding light to show them the way home. REMEMBER
The black ribbon on the candle reminds us that the numbers continue to increase for those who will
not be coming home. REMEMBER
The single rose reminds us of the loved ones and families who will never give up
hope, who will never despair, and who will wait, and wait, and wait. REMEMBER
The red, white and blue ribbon tied around the vase reminds us of our flg and the great love they have for their
country. REMEMBER
A slice of lemon on the bread plate reminds us of their bitter fate if we do not bring them home.
REMEMBER
There is only salt on their plates, symbolic of their familites tears as they wait. REMEMBER
The glasses are inverted, but not broken. They may yet raise a toast with us, but only if we do not stumble
in our duty to bring them home. REMEMBER
As you look upon the empty chairs, do not remember ghosts of the past. Remember our comrades, our loved ones and their families.
Remember those comrades who we depended upon in battle and who were there for us no matter how tough the fighting or slim the odds.
Remember our friends who love life and freedom as we do. They depend on us now to bring them home. REMEMBER
because there but for the grace of God go we. REMEMBER
