Month of September 1998

From the Commander:

To begin with Comrades, a few of you & I mean a few, will in all probability take exception to what I have to say about ongoing and serious problems that must end.

I will be addressing this primarily to those few members, sisters of the Auxiliary, and guests of the aforementioned who constantly spread false and malicious gossip about their fellow comrades, sisters of the Aux. and guests, repeatedly in the presence of anyone in attendance including children, use vulgar profanity, obscene gestures, and racistslurs. It appears taht our Post By-Laws and Canteen Rules mean absolutely nothing to these individuals. It's time to enforce what has been ignored. The Post House Committee which has the authority to suspend all club privileges of any member for misconduct on club premises for whatever time shall be deemed proper, subject to appeal. Myself and the House Committee Chairman have the authority to immediately suspend canteen privileges of the individual(s) for a period of up to 14 days. C'mon comrades, will this be necessary? Let us live up to our motto, "The Friendly Post." God Bless.

Ed Robillard, Commander

From the Ladies Auxiliary President:

Ladies and Comrades,

First off let me thank Butch for switching Sunday breakfasts with us, so that we could go to the District meeting. Thanks so much Butch! We were well represented at District. Thanks Ladies!

Thanks also goes out to all those who helped make our Italian dinner such a success. Between the dinner and thedessert auction we made over $300. Thaks to those who attened and especially to those who helped, espeically Matt, whom we left in the kitchen by himself for what seemed like an eternity!

September is filled with lots of historical and patriotic holidays. Fly your flag proudly! We will be having a POW/MIA ceremony on Sept. 19th. Please be sure to attend this poignant eremony. Following the ceremoney, we will be having one of our famous potluck dinners. So plan to attend and bring a dish! Also we wil lb holding a Gold Star Parents Ceremony during breakfast on Sunday the 27th.

Always be proud to be an American!

Jodi Nerney

From the Canteen:

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! August was a great month! We are hoping September is even better! You the members are the ones that make the Post great. We need volunteers to cook on Saturday nights. If you have any ideas on how to make the canteen more fun, come in and talk to me. On the 5th, we are having chicken wings. On the 12th, we are having my special meatloaf dinner with entertainment to follow. On the 26th, Gonzo will be back. I want to thank the people who help on canteen functions. Come in and have a drink and say hi to your friends!

submitted by George Koci

The FDA approved Nutrasweet (TM) for their buddies in big business!

Fact: Nutrasweet (TM) is made from aspartame. Aspartame is 10% wood alcohol which your body metabolizes into dangerous carcinogens! (one of them is DKP which may cause brain tumors)

Fact: 75% of all non-drug complaints to the FDA are about aspartame. Complaints include headaches, dizziness, mood changes, numness, vomiting, nausea, muscle cramps, spasms, abdominal pain, vision problems, skin lesions, memory loss, and seizures.

If you see Nutrasweet (TM) (or aspartame) on the label, do yourself a favor
