During our visit, we headed to Brooklyn for a wedding. We left Montclair and hour and a half early to go 20 miles or so. Wouldn't you know it that we got stuck in traffic for over two hours. Then we take the wrong turn off the Verazzano Bridge and get lost. We make it to the church as just before the communion. Well, better late than never they say. After the wedding we headed back to Staten Island for a great reception.
We took a day trip and went to Lahaska, Pennsylvania. Denis' cousins and sister and brother-in-law rounded out the troupe. We had a great time drinking, eating, drinking, shopping, drinking. It was a nice trip and a beutiful day.
We also hit the Big Apple while we were in the neighborhood. We went into the city. I love New York!! I wasn't able to meet all my net. friends, but I was able to meet Napolean. He is so cool...a real sweetheart. I didn't get to spend much time with him but I will next time I hit the city. We went to an off-off-broadway show called 'Bein' with Behan'. A one man show about the Irish playwright Brendan Behan. It was great!.
Denis and I got up early before anyone else and went out exploring the town. We went to the Today show, got a picture of Katie Couric as she passed by and watched a practice for an Easter ice show in Rockefeller Center. We took the subway to Battery Park but the weather was so miserable we didn't go out to the Statue. We went back to the hotel where we joined up with everyone and went to Good Friday service at St. Patrick's Cathedral.
We had a wonderful time in New York and I can't wait to go back! Maybe next time I'll get to meet the rest of my net.friends.
