For the last two weeks, I've had a guest. My guest was one of my net. friends. Glyn (Tol) came all the way from Wales for this vist. (No, Wales is NOT part of England!)

First impressions are lasting impressions...or so they say. Well, when I picked Glyn up from the bus station, he followed me around to the driver's side of the car. We stood there looking at each other a few minutes before we both realized why the other was on that side of the car. Those silly Brits don't know which side of the road to drive on!

It was a busy two weeks. I'm not as young as I used to be you know. I had a hard time keeping up with him. In fact it took both Denis and I to keep up with Glyn. We would take turns going out with him cuz he kept us out all hours of the night! Then while we slaved away at work, he'd be home sleeping.

We started out the visit by going to a Dolphins game. I love football so it wasn't a hardship for me. :) It was the first time Glyn had seen American football game live. It was a bad game that had a happy ending so I guess it was worth it. The 'Fins played the Atlanta Falcons. Just when many ppl had left, the Dolphins were able to salvage a win.

The next day, we met Zenia for lunch. We went to Bayside Marketplace which overlooks the bay. (duh) After depositing Zenia back at work, Glyn and I hit the beach. South Beach to be specific. We didn't have the proper attire to take a dip in the ocean, so we walked the beach.

Next came the Everglades. We took the tram (not the trolley) through Shark Valley. The park had been closed for a couple of months due to flooding and it had just reopened. Some of the park was still closed. We saw lots of alligators. The most I've ever seen. Glyn saw a real live Ibis...so now he doesn't think that all Ibis wear orange and green :)

Lets see...what else did we do? Friday night we went on a cruise to nowhere. Zenia, Peter, Lily, Glyn, Denis and I. It was great. The cruise left from Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale. Of course getting there was another story. All I say is that the Waffle House gives great directions! *grin* Once we got on the boat, we had a nice sit down dinner. We finished right about the time the boat set sail. We had a great time spending the night dancing, drinking, dancing and gambling. At least some of us danced! I'm sure Glyn will go back and teach everyone the Macarena! We finally arrived home around 4 AM.

Next came the Ft. Lauderdale Winterfest Boat parade. It's quite a sight to see. Boats of all shapes and sizes are decorated with Christmas lights. They parade along the Intercoastal. It's really a nice thing to see. And some of the boats are decorated quite elaborately.

On to Key West! Sunday we took a road trip to Key West. No trip is complete without all the required stops...like Holiday Isle Tiki Bar and other assorted bars along the way. Upon arriving in Key West, we immediately went to the southernmost point of the continental US. It's only 90 miles from Cuba you know. Then Glyn and Denis deposited themselves in Sloppy Joe's bar (the one Ernest Hemingway made famous) while my mother and I went shopping. We joined the guys and spend the rest of the afternoon drinking and listening to the laid back music only found in Key West. We hit a few other bars before we headed up the long road to home.

Well, Monday was the guys day out! It was Denis' turn to try and keep up with Glyn! I can only assume they had a great time by the time and condition they came home with. I heard where they went though and it's no place for a lady :)

Zenia had us over for dinner one night. Here, Glyn got to meet more Miami Spods, Pooh and Yuki. Zenia made great fajitas but where was Pooh's pasta salad? We took turns spodding as we always do at Zenia's. It's an experience to spod with a crowd gathered looking over your shoulder.

Well, that about hilites my newest adventure. Of course I didn't mention much about the nightlife. Glyn kept me out late night after night. I found bars I didn't know existed before. They say wine is good for the blood. Well my blood should be very healthy right about now.

Glyn has gone home now. My life is back to the normal boring style it was before he came. I'm sad to see him go, but to tell you the truth, I need my sleep!
